My name is Brady Doland and I am one of the Assistant House Parents in Barnacle House. As always, I am very excited for the upcoming year as there are a ton of new faces and a great returning group of boarders. I have been working in boarding for the past 4 years as coaching intern, activity boarding coordinator, and as a House Parent in Barnacle House. Last year, I coordinated and led the second May Long Weekend trip to Disneyland in Los Angeles and am very excited to lead the first international boarding trip to Hawaii this February.
I teach “adventures in learning” at St. Michaels, Physical Education in the Middle and Senior School, and am also heavily involved in the experiential program. Last year, my Gr. 10 group converted a 1973 Volkswagen Beetle car into a fully electric road worthy vehicle! This year I will be coaching the Sr. Boys Volleyball Team, Middle School Volleyball, and Senior School Track and Field. I am thrilled to finish up my Masters in Education and Leadership Studies at the University of Victoria this year so I can spend more time with my awesome wife Riley Doland (Gr.8/9 boarding coordinator) and our beautiful 1 month old baby girl Kaya Belle McQueen Doland.
Outside of SMUS, I love to participate in activities such as, kiteboarding, skiing, traveling, sports, and work on anything that has a motor in it. I am really excited and love the positive energy the Barnacle Boys bring this year!
