My name is Brady Doland and I am the new assistant House Parent in Barnacle House. I am very excited to take on this new role as I have been working in boarding for the past 3 years as coaching intern and activity boarding coordinator. Last year, I coordinated and led the first every May Long Weekend trip to Disneyland in Los Angeles and also began the SMUS Motocross Club!
I teach “adventures in learning” at St. Michaels and am also heavily involved in the experiential program. Last year, my Gr. 10 group rebuilt a used go-kart and converted into a electric motor vehicle, all in one week. We then had a blast racing it around at the local go-kart track competing for fastest lap times. My teaching background is in Physical Education and I am heavily involved in coaching athletics at the school. This year I will be coaching the Sr. Boys Volleyball Team, Gr.8 Basketball team, Middle School Volleyball, and Senior School Track and Field. On top of everything, I am thrilled to begin my Masters in Education and Leadership Studies at the University of Victoria.
Outside of SMUS I love to seek out in adventures, kite board, ski, travel, play sports, and work on anything that has a motor in it. I am really excited and love the positive energy the Barnacle Boys bring this year!
